Just let her know if she needs anything at all you're always there for her. She'll know what you mean & why you're saying it, soo don't even bring up the details. She'll talk openly when she feels comfortable enough.

Send a card telling her you are thinking of her. Dont mention the situation. Suggest maybe an outing for lunch or coffee. And do not bring it up yourself. Just show her your friendship and support. When and if she feels she can trust, she will tell you about it. She will open up and show her true feelings, At that point just offer her all the support you can. and she needs,. Be a good listener., That is what she needs most. If she has other needs she will let you know. As they come up, then you can offer what she needs.,
Be trustworthy, honest and a good friend.
That is what she needs the most right now.

Be honest with her. yet caring and sensitive. If you 'keep your mouth shut' now that it's in the paper, it's almost like you are lying to her. She's pretty much going to know that everyone knows now. Just be prepared to listen if she wants to talk. Let her know that you are there for her if she needs you. Leave it at that.
