i sat and talked to this female telemarketer for about 15 minutes..........i pretended to be so interested to get her excited about a sale........and then when i got tired of flirting i said "im sorry sweetie, i dont read the newspaper" and hung up....
you ever do something like this just for the hell of it?

Yes, I know it is not nice but occasionally I too mess w/ telemarketers. Once a person had called for the second time to sell a grave plot and I told her I was the housekeeper cleaning out the closet because I had died. Another time I told a newspaper sales person I would love to have the paper but could not use it saying I was blind. :)

Well, I had a similar experience. The guy was also selling newspapers and I told him start out that I wasn't interested, yet we talked for about 20 mins. Apparently, the guy was a retiree who was bored at home so he took that job part-time just to have something to do. For some reason I tend to hear people's life stories all the time. I guess people just feel comfy confiding in me.

Sort of. My ex-husband stop paying a note that I was on and the collection agency started calling me. I would engage them sometimes just to see what they'd do. That was some mean f*ckers.

my grandma (who's British by the way) used to love to do this. When she would visit, we'd hand all those calls to her. She kept one on the line for an hour!

yeah i talked to one for like 15-20 mins but he wasnt talking about what he was suposed to cause me and a friend was messing with him and was talking about other things and stuff (kinda nasty things) it was funny
