Lara...tendulkar....ponting....kallis....dravid?
for me lara is the best....because he can destroy bowling attacks.....he is a destructive player.....others such as dravid and kallis are great and will get the same runs as lara but wont really destroy a bowling attack!!! for me the order is: 1. Lara
2. Tendulkar 3. Ponting 4.Dravid 5.Kallis ........and ponting is coming close to lara in terms of being destructive....and since he still has got 5 or 6 years left in him.....he could be the best of them all....what do u think???

i think lara is best because he can destroy bowling attacks. he plays long inings. he made 375 runs and 400 runs in 2 inings. it `s very hard for any batsman.
1 lara
2 sachin --- some down
3 ponting --- golden times in cricket
4 rahul ----- always chines wall and still no 1 test matches player.

Well its not yousaf, the question was ERA, not year.

Yousaf has to be as good as he has been in the last 2 years for another 10.

All the names the question listed are correct. People who dominant batting lineups (Yousaf does not do this, nor does Dravid, they are great batsman, stroke players, ponting, lara they dominant bowling attacks)

During this year...Only two batsmen in world cricket stood out...Mohammed yousuf and Ricky Ponting....I guess based on this year's achievements, Mohammed yousuf would be rated number 1 and Ponting would be number 2...but if ponting succeeds to break yousuf's record in remaining two Ashes test matches in 2006, then he could be rated number 1....
Tendulkar need sometime off to rethink his future plans.Lara perfomrs well when he is the only one left to sail the team through troubles....both Lara and Tendulkar have seen their days of glory....We should not expect a lot from them now....it's upto youngsters now to perform and justify their position in the team.

lara, of course.. the number of matches lara has won for WI is much higher than what sachin did for india.. When Lara gets going, there is very little chance WI would lose..

Modern era??? hmm.. these guys are a little old now.. So I would vote for Dhoni - very promising youngster and an improviser
