DEAR, YOU CAN GET THE VISA THROUGH THE EGYPTIAN CONSULATES IN USA IF YOU LIVE IN USA. YOU CAN GET THE VISA ALSO UPON YOUR ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT.
IT IS UP TO YOUR DECISION , BUT I ADVICE YOU TO GET IT HERE IN USA JUST TO AVOID SOME LOSS OF TIME WAITING FOR IT IN CAIRO AIRPORT.THIS TIME LOSS IS NOT MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR. REGARDING ONE ANSWER YOU ALL READY GOT JUST TO BE POLITE , IGNORE IT. WE ARE FRIENDLY PEOPLE BUT STILL SOME OF US TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HUMANS - DOES NOT MATTER IF THEY ARE EGYPTIANS OR FOREIGNERS. I HOPE YOU HAVE A CONTACT PERSON IN EGYPT. REGARDING YOURSELF AND SPECIALLY YOUR SON WATCH THE WATER THAT YOU DRINK. FOR EGYPTIANS IT IS NORMAL BUSINESS BUT FOR YOU AND YOUR SON IT MAY CAUSE DIARRHEA. SO DRINK BOTTLED WATER.AND ABOUT THE FOOD , EITHER YOU COOK IT OR EAT IN A CLEAN RESTAURANT. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP ASK AGAIN AND I WILL ANSWER.

You can get it at the Cairo airport. When I went I had someone meeting me as part of a tour and the process wasn't long at all. I don't know if you will have problems with an infant so it may be adviseable to get it before you leave but it will cost you more. Don't fret. You will be fine. Egyptians are very friendly and helpful. You will only need your passports if you wait until you get to Cairo. However, it may be wise to take your son's birth certificate also. Although a normal thing these days to travel as one parent with a child some countries are more aware now that a single parent traveling with a child may be abducting him/her.

I went there last October and i spend the most beautiful time in my life there. Believe me you don't need do nothing special, just take you passport with you and go to pay the tax in the bank inside the airport, there they will give you something like a stamp and the man in the next desk will check u passport and this stamp and that's all....its so easy, I tought maybe just 5 minutes to made all this. If u will go in a group tour maybe you will take more time.

i traveled alone, by myself and never never i had a problem, everybody were so kind with me...Don't worry, is a peaceful country, you will see.
Im sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand me....Enjoy u travel please...be quiet.

Directly from the US Dept. of State website.......

Travelers can obtain a renewable, 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Cairo International Airport for a $15 fee, payable in U.S. dollars.

You shouldn't have any problems.....
Have a great trip!

You can maintain the visa at the airport or here in Chicago if you live in Midwestern States if it's east coast then you need to maintain it in Washington D.C... The easier way is to maintain in at the airport.. It' will only cost you $15.00 if you have the U.S passport......
if you live in midwestern States apply at Chicago area.. Here is there website where you can dowload forums to print out..

http://www.eg2002.net/

and that will also link you to washington D.C website....

DONT BE NERVOUS.. BUT TAKE MY ADVISE.. GET IT FROM THE USA BEFORE U COME TO EGYPT...

BUT ID LIKE TO NOTE TOO.. THE FACT THAT THE EGYPTIAN AIRPORT IS ALWAYS CROWDED..AND ULL STAND IN LONG LINES..BUT OTHER THAN THAT ITS GREAT..

ALSO IF YOU COULD ARRANGE THAT THE HOTEL IN EGYPT WOULD ESCOURT U FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL... IF YOU CANT ARRANGE IT... THERE ARE LIMOS JUST OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT THEY WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR HOTEL

P.S. watch for the tab water.. drink only botteled water,,, and make sure what that u eat in clean places...and all the food at supermarkets is clean enough u dont need to worry

If I was you I'll double check with the Egyptian embassy before I go, don't take any chances, cuz if they don't give you the visa at arrival, there will be troubles..☺
