just for the record, im a guy. so last night i was at this gig and i made friends with this guy. we were just making jokes etc we were pretty wasted. then he just left (dont know where he went) then one of his friends, this girl came up to me and started asking what id done with him. she was saying "i will hurt you, what have you done with your friend?" i thought this was kinda weird seeing as she is a girl and quite a bit smaller than me so i didnt really take it seriously. then she tried to knee me in the balls! (blocked it with my leg) and started pulling my hair, then ppl split it up and she ran off somewhere. it was a complete surprise, so i didnt really do anything to get her off me. then i got really angry and started looking around for her cos i wanted to beat her up basically (testosterone was clouding my logic). anyway now i feel like maybe i should have at least punched her once cos i didnt seem like much of a man. am i being stupid? tell me if i am. thanks

thanks for the comments so far, im glad you think i was right not to hit her. just so you know, cos some of you seem to think testosterone is a drug, its the male hormone (encourages aggression etc)

It's OK to protect yourself and restrain someone, but beating her up would be utterly wrong. If she was that much smaller then I'm sure that she couldn't have done much damage in the long run. Think, would be OK if she was anyone else much smaller than you - like errr a child. "I didn't seem like much of a man" - probably the biggest damage seems to be a badly bruised ego. Forget it - stop re-living it and be thankful you didn't punch her - you'd probably be in a cell now (after a kicking from some boys in blue en route).

Maybe it was some kind of sex play they have between them !
or maybe as you were both wasted - you did upset him in some way.
But no you wasn't wrong not to hit back, she was totally out of order for physically attacking you, and propably deserved a mouthfull but under no circumstances should a man hit a woman.

Didn't your mother bring you up right? You never ever hit a woman even if you think she deserves it!!!!!
1.) your much bigger and stronger
2.) you could seriously injure her
3.) obviously the booze/drugs were clouding your better judgement if mom did teach you right from wrong.
4.) you should have calmly talked to her right from the start to settle her down and all that bulls**t would not have occurred.
I saw my father hit my mom, I refuse to put up with any mans' abuse at all EVER, and if my 22yr. old son ever hits any woman throughout his life, I will kick his A.$$ and he knows this, I have told him a few different times when he and the girlfriend were arguing.

Damn it - this kinda thing irritates me ....why is it that girls can start a fight with a bloke but he is expected NOT to hit back..? Would it have been ok for him to smack someone back if she'd been a man???? tut tut - what are the women of today coming to (besides myself of course!!) I've never hit anyone - ok maybe i am a wimp but i dont care.... i hate seeing all these NASTY girls scrapping in public (or anywhere for that matter!) what happened to a bit of female decorum??!!!!!!!!! anyways - dont worry...forget it ever happened i say...silly cow will get whats coming to her soon i expect if she carries on with her strange habit of trying to beat up men!!

it takes a bigger man to not hit her you did the right thing by just defending yourself and not reacting to instinct. instincts are the animals inside all of us it doesnt make u less of a man for not knocking the crap out of herself even tho she put herself in a mans place by attacking you my brother was in a similar scenario the other week with his gf, she beat the hell out of him yet he only blocked and a couple of half slaps (when ya stop half way) my brother felt bad for slappin her but lookin at his body and the bruises and scratches and the violence she has doled out in the past i was shocked he didnt beat the crap out of her but he siad he didnt want to have to answer to me and his mom because hes always been taught to treat women with respect and to never hit a woman he was the only boy in the house growin up and he couldnt imagine hitting a woman other then me after all imhis big sis and bros and sis' arent people lol kuddos for not knockin the crap out of her

well you should not hit her back and u did the right thing by not hitting her. no 1 has the right to hit another person. you should call the police or just calm down. all violence is wrong.
