I have a Kenmore oven and the oven will not lite after the electrode heats up,I have a spark ignition oven.

Two possibilities that should be checked by competent repair person:
1. The electrode has build-up on it and isn't heating up hot enough to get the gas lit.
2. Defective thermostat which makes the oven think the electrode is hotter than it really is.

Unplug it! check the wiring for breaks, burns etc. check to make sure nothing has dripped down and shorted out the electrode. If so clean it thoroughly let dry and try again. If that doesn't work then the ignition module is faulty and may have to be replaced. Good Luck

Kenmore is a Sears product. Contact them about it, and get it professionally repaired.

Not something you should play with.....Gas explosions are deadly. Call a repair man or the store where you purchased it for advice.
