Well you said share, so does that mean they are splitting it 4 ways or 3?
If they are splitting it among the 4 of them, then - $53.25
If they are splitting it among the 3 the friends - $71

sam should spend $(1+4n) ,*n must be less than or equal to 53*
if n=53,sam spent 213,then he got $0 left...he can only share $0 wif 3 fds...

instance:
he can share the money equally wif 3 fds (213-1)/4=$53,*n=0,sam spent $1*
