I have spent the last week searching the web, phoning every store you can imagine and all to no avail, I hate being defeated but I can see no way of getting one of these darn machines for my 6 yr old.
Does anyone have any info at all regarding deliveries of the WII before xmas ?

Not ebay,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it is interesting that a few of you seem to adopt 'the its tough' stance.................I take it that you don't have kids !!

Anyway I know the chances are slim but I wondered if anyone had insider knowledge on expected deliveries to places like Tesco and Asda etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This is the only place I know available. People have been queuing for days to get them from shops and just about all are sold out so chances are very slim!!
Good Luck!!

I found this saying that there is a shortage so your best bet is to preorder one for early next year. Know this is no solution as you want one for Christmas but it really doesn't look good. All deliveries seem to be going to people who have prepaid.
Know how must feel as I have two young children myself and at Christmas i think you should try to get them what they really want - what is the point of spending loads of money on stuff you think they want when they could have something they really wanted so much that they would play with it loads and appreciate it.
Don't know much about the Wii but from the adverts it seems like a games console and exercise routine all in one! I think it looks great and maybe next year will look to get one. It doesn't look like the sort of thing you sit staring a tv screen doing the advert shows people leaping all over, so a good workout there!!
Sorry to not be more help!!

Get in a time machine, rewind 3 months to when the Wii release was announced, put your pre-order in and hey presto!

Or alternatively, wait until the fad has died down, stocks are in surplus, production yield issues have been solved and the price has dropped significantly. A.K.A. *NEXT* Christmas.

Good luck though.

If he/she is only six i'd go for a playstation 2 and get them some eye toy games to go with it, it's more or less the same thing, they'll still be able to jump around infront of the telly...some of the eye toy games are pretty cool.....

Check out

While your at it get yourself Guitar Hero .....it's the best game i've ever played on any console... especially with mates and a few beers......(make sure to get the guitar with the game it comes in a package)

(go on give your kids the gift of rock this christmas)

the playstation 2 is a great console and it's back catologe of games is huge, it's also a dvd player which the nintendo is not....

It's also a lot cheaper and less likley to brake you when you have to buy your kid some new games after christmas....there's even a pink version out if it's a girl your buying for...

p.s (don't mention the playstation 3 to your little one or you'll have one hell of a santa bill)

I know the best buy in my area (Westminster, CA) gets weekly shipments and usually holds on to some of them until Sunday morning. Your best bet, this close to Christmas, is to be persistent. Make part of your daily morning routine calling your local big electronics stores. Where I live they are Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, Frys, etc. Call them every morning and be persistent.

Nintendo was really on the ball with the launch so the odds of finding one are better than you think.

good luck.

I did hear......don't know if its true or not, but nintendo said that although during the launch week there would be a shortage - there would be enough stock delivered in time for Christmas !

Lets hope so, I'm after one too, its not life or death but its great to get your kids what they really want !

If you're that desperate to get one, then the only place in the UK to get one from would be da da daaaaa 'Ebay'.
Just try for one that will let you collect and have the receipt so you're covered with the waranty. Good luck!

This website is pretty up to date. I used it a lot before I got my wii.

Ultimately I ended up standing in line for two hours in the cold on Black Friday to make sure I was first in line to get one when Gamestop got their second shipment.

Good Luck

Well geez, Don't spoil your kid. If he can't get a Wii, Tough it Up!! Kids can't get everything they want. Teach him the value of money. Give him something else, like a Playstation 2 or Xbox 360 or HEY! How about a Baseball and a Ball to play OUTSIDE???? Don't give in to your bratty kids, YOU are the parent!!
