are less known. I'd love to know what great things Africans have invented, excluding Egypt please. I KNOW there must be some things. But I personally don't know of any off-hand - Africans specifically - not African Americans. But thanks. I know of things African Americans invented.

To exclude the Egyptians as "not Africans" is to the greatest accomplishments of that continent.

The Africans made several large fortifications that are just as amazing as Stonehenge and the Oracle of Delphi. I call these fortifications, but they may have been far more.. we just don't know for sure.... nobody survives to say what it really was anymore.

That being said the typical 'Africans' were much like many of what the Europeans called the uncivilized or undeveloped nations. Furthermore, the belief in both Christianity and 'Manifest Destiny' allowed these same Europeans to overrun and convert much of the rest of the world.

Tribal differences got in the way of much of humanity's slow crawl out of the darkness. In Europe, this happened just like everywhere else until a strange thing happened. In Europe, unlike anyplace else, the wars rose to such a crescendo that one nation emerged as a totalitarian state; Rome. This changed the way things were done in Europe even after Rome eventually fell. Other examples of this phenomenon are of course the other great civilizations in history; China being first in my mind.
