Good lord no! Some media formats are better than others, granted, but not one format is perfect!
I think you also have to be aware of media "trends", currently the trend seems to be flashy delivery which is sensational and attention grabbing and as a result accurate and fair reporting suffers massively!
The tabloid press have always been guilty of this but get worse. ITN has also become increasingly bad at this style of news delivery. It's also what is implied by use of language that bugs me such as the current horrific story in suffolk, those poor woman are almost constantly referred to as "prostitutes", it's almost as though some level of blame is being laid with them for the work they did.
What about just describing them as woman (not girls!), this kind of media approach is subtle but irritating!

You only hear the news that they think is worth us knowing about. When something is classed as old news, does that mean the situation has ended? Nope, they just decided not to tell us any more about it.
Take Knife crime in the UK. A report comes out saying that knife crime is on the increase. Over the following days and weeks the papers are filled with stabbing/knife incidents. Did criminals read this report and think, yeah I'll do that? No. It was topical so they decide to print all the knife attacks. The papers then seem to back up the report, as all you the read about are these kind of incidents.
Don't even get me started on editing!

Of course not everything is true. While some journalists do try their best to give you objective news and the facts, others are part of a larger propaganda machine.
Take CNN, for instance. They are brilliant in showing you only the one side of the story, in order to keep the sheep - in and outside USA - quiet, preventing them from creating a stampede.
Other journalists are victim of censorship from the government. They, while they would like to report the Truth, are not able to because they face censorship. Censorship exists everywhere, also in the west. Censorship exists in many forms: banning an article, firing the journalist in question, or making sure he or she will be arrested.

What is the truth? Peoples opinions cloud the facts. If you want to use a scale to try and devine which TV channel tells the "truth" through balanced opinion then I would put the BBC at around 90% and Fox news at about 3% I hope that helps?

Anything - that anybody says's, by speech, letter, video, - whatever, is subjective - it is subject to that persons own interpretation of the facts, what they include, and omit.
the more people involved in the editing process, the greater the subjectivity... Take the cannon of the Bible?
The Press, the media- are political creatures just like the rest of us, and have their own hidden and sometimes blatantly obvious agenda's. So i guess if somebody is stupid enough to believe the press and the politicians, then they deserve what they have got. Its the rest of us poor objective and balanced folks who will need god's help, but as to how that help will be applied, or if, you have to ask yourself, what cannon do you want to believe?

I believe that some reporters try to remain truthful when reporting but when some news item hasn't been proven then they tend to expanse on it. If they didn't try to make it alittle juicy then all the other reporters would get the jump on them. That is called keeping up with the reporters and that's 100% genuine.

God no!
If the media told the truth, nobody would be interested in them, they'd have to admit that they really are liars and timewasters, and that quite possibly, we wouldn't buy their newspapers.
Then again, that last part might be wrong.
Take it all with a pinch of salt sometimes.
