It means that you got beaten in a really mean way. And you got beaten really badly like in volleyball, 15-0, with you as the zero and whoever gets 15 points wins. In basketball, 100-0, where you have 0 and whenever time runs out the person with the highest points wins. You got beaten terrible and it is mean to say. The expression you got served is when you win a round, usually in sports.

I read that the expression originated from computer language which means a hacker has broken into somebodys computer and hence "owns" the other guy.
It has evolved into a term that means "to seriously defeat "
or beat out another competitor.at his own expertise or game.

Or he slammed you and you had no comback.

so instead of saying 'he got ya!" they now say 'he owns you!"
same thing different slang.
