I'll add a whole bunch of songs to my on the go playlist. Now, if I connect my Ipod to the computer, add new songs to the library, then go thru those songs and add them to my playlist by holding down the center button, the software automatically creates a new on the go playlist.
Why is this? Can I disable this feature. It really sucks having 2-3 playlists with all my favorite songs split between them.
Also, is there a way to add songs to a playlist from within my Ipod library within Itunes? Like, I was thinking that I could just right click on a song in the library and select a playlist that I wanted to add it to. Doesn't look like this is possible. Am I going to have to add the song from the source (DVD data disc)?

It plays music through a set of earbuds. Music is downloaded from computer and manually loaded onto your iPod. It alsocomes with games you can play, I believe those differ according to what model iPod you own.
I have an iPod mini, it holds about 4 GBs, equivalent to about 900 mp3 files (songs). I can choose any song I want by name, artist, or album. I make playlists from which to play a certain group of songs I want to hear.
Contrary to popular belief, the earbuds that come with it are not good at blocking out sound. If I want to ignore someone I have to do it mainly out of choice.
To Holly: Yes you can make playlists from your iTunes, I reccomend that because my On-The-Go lists always glitch. (they add songs randomly that I didn't add)
Just go into itunes, click on your iPod's music library and choose Add a Playlist. It *should* show up in your iPod's library.

Plays music.
Plays music, but with no records or tapes, cause ipod is digital. And because that, in the ipod you can store up to 20,000 songs that you can choose from a well organized lists, as you do in a computer. The sound is terrific. The music format is MP3 and you buy it in the Internet (at itunes).
You can also watch movies, musical videos, TV programs and games on it. And, its the size of your palm.

It a musical players. It can also play short Video story. That's all. It's like MP3 players but it can record the music or Video. Think of it as your movable harddrive. For small Ipod, it doesn't have the harddrive inside but probably a memory chip that contain upto 2 MB. For bigger ones, they are harddrive.

The super-slim iPod is a digital music player that can hold up to 10,000 songs, thousands of digital photos and works as a personal voice recorder. You can sync with iTunes for Mac and Windows at blazing speeds, and take your entire music collection with you wherever you go. It is very small and if you work out or travel, or if your work allows it...it can easily "blend" in with your day. It has accessories that you can buy that include earphones..carrying case etc. Very small and very "current",

It's a lot like a cassette walkman, but it plays digital files instead of cassettes, and can store a lot more songs than a single cassette. The songs are also easily accessed in any order, without the "lag" of a fast forward or rewind button.

It can pee on the competition. It can take a crap on top of Creative. It beats the living sh.it out of RCA. And don't even mention Sony, the iPod put them in the hospital. Someone needs to slap the **** out of iPod and teach them to stop dominating the market.

My 13 year old daughter has one and from what I can tell, the main function of the I-Pod is to provide her a device from which she can block out any form of verbal communication from me ever reaching her ears

depends on what kind of ipod u got.
basically, it plays sound files (not limited to music per se, coz u can also download podcasts into it). but some models can also display pictures, play videos and make u addicted to it.
