You are funny and you obviously don't know what is tough life, Maradona isn't very smart man, and for you, maybe his past life is a disgrace, but I have a friends that i grow up with them and they are on drugs now and because of that I can understand his reasons and battles with cocaine, he became a star over the night, he went from bread and water straight to champagne and caviar, and when you are at rich people parties cocaine is everywhere..... believe me everywhere, the biggest problem with him was, that he never changed, even now you never see him in a suit, he is always in Argentinian or Boca Juniors jersey, he never became a ''gentleman'' he was always a bad boy, people like you will never understand him, because you didn't grow up in environment like that!!!!
@Ice Cube
Everything you said is HARD REALITY of his life, but he is not dead lol!!!!!!

I just watched a documentary on him yesterday. He was hurted many times during the game due to rough plays by the defenders and during the half time, the coaching staffs usually injected him with pain killers. They suspected that because of this he gets used to taking medicine which subsequently led to drug. He was once hurted quited badly while he was playing for the Italian team and had a long break from the game. He got a visit by his "bad" friend (according to the documentary) from Argentina and he probably introduced the drug to Maradonna.
The outcome was he got heavily into it that he can hardly stop. He went to Cuba for rehap, and tried very hard to come back. During the world cup in the US, he got himself in shape again (after a very hard work in isolation with his coaches). He could score in the game, which made him felt really great like he can come back. But, I think it was during the break that they test his blood and found illegal use of stimulating drug and he was banned from football.
Marradonna's never really got over it.
I think he was a result of instant fame since he was young and never really could cope with the successes, which were overwhelming for him. He spent his money buying gifts for other people and supporting many friends (as many as two dozen at one time according to the documentary) that he was not rich even afterall the money he made.
It was a really sad story of a truly gifted sportman. He can't even be coach himself as he has never had to learn football. For him, it was natural.
It was a really sad story, and I think he was really great. He died as a result of this. He heart couldn't take too much drinks, drugs and foods. He gotten so fat at the end of his young life before he died.

the major one happened at the 1994 worldcup, he had played 2 matches of that worldcup when he failed a drug test, so he was expelled from that worldcup and sent home! but he had already scored one goal and made an assist b4 that happened.....maradona argued that the test was failed becuz he took a power drink that his coach gave to him, not becuz he took banned drugs....
but b4 the worldcup he was batteling with a cocaine addiction, i think since the 1990's, and at 1992 he was banned from playing for 15 months with napoli also becuz he failed a drug test( cocaine)
maradona continued to gave drug problems which literally wrecked him ,but then he went to cuba from 2002 to 2005 to battle this problem and he got over it! thats his doping story...
