The Earth may only have one Moon, but it's a big one! The Earth's Moon is the fifth largest in the whole solar system. But it is still smaller than the Earth, so objects weigh less on the Moon than they do here. That's why the astronauts could enjoy bouncing around on the lunar surface.
Even though the Moon has no liquid water, it does have special "seas" and "land" on its surface. There are also many interesting features such as craters, mountain ranges, and lava plains. The interior of the Moon is made up of different layers of rock, some solid and some molten like lava. By studying the Moon's surface and interior, geologists can learn about the Moon's geological history and its formation.
The footprints left behind by the Apollo astronauts will last for many thousands of years because there is no wind on the Moon. The Moon has no atmosphere, so there is no weather to erase the footprints. On the Earth, the atmosphere acts as a blanket, keeping the warmth of the Sun in even at night. Because there is no atmosphere on the Moon, the temperatures there are very hot during the day (100°C) and very cold at night (-173°C).
The Moon doesn't produce its own light, but looks bright because it reflects light from the Sun. Think of the Sun as a light bulb, and the Moon as a mirror, reflecting light from the light bulb. The lunar phase changes as the Moon orbits the Earth and different portions of its surface are illuminated by the Sun.

Yep - we only have one moon.
The different shapes you see are because the moon only shows by reflected light from the sun. It does not emit any light of its own (Since it is basically just a big rock). When the Earth is between the sun and the moon, it blocks out a lot of the light, and the moon can only reflect the part that is not blocked.
That is why the edge between dark and light (On the moon you see) is always curved
But sorry - there is only one moon belonging to the earth.
Loads of other moons out there, for the other planets though.....

We only have 1 moon.
The "types" you hear about are just descriptions of what our moon looks like to us as our planet blocks the sunlight from its surface. A full moon is when the earth doesn't block any of the sunlight and we can see the full disk, a half moon is when the earth's shadow covers half the moons surface and a new moon is when the earth covers the whole thing.

You made a misconception about moon. Planet earth has only one moon. What you could see in the evening like half moon is called phases of the moon. This happens due to revolution of the earth around the sun, the rotation around its axis, and its tilted axis.

Firstly ... With respect to half/full moon etc, these are just different names for phases of the moon, when part of the moons surface is not visable, because of the shadow that the earth casts on it's surface.
Secondly...
Did you watch QI (panel game BBC2 Steven Fry)?
There are technically 2 moons...
1st .. The Moon...
2nd .. Cruithne (pronounced cru-ez-knee)
Cruithne is an asteroid that got caught into an earth orbit, so is technically now clasified as a secondary moon, though it's not visable to the naked eye!!!
Hope that helps!!!

Actually the Earth has two 'moons' but one is rarely mentioned and barely anyone on the street knows about it.
It's called Cruithne and it's tiny (5 km wide) and is actually an asteroid orbiting the sun but due to its unusual orbit it appears to be gravitationally linked to Earth (though this is not true). It circles the sun on an Earth orbit but is slightly quicker to make a complete passage than the Earth. Look at the Wiki entry
