The actual odor is caused by bacteria digesting the sweat (especially in anaerobe circumstances -> inside closed shoes), rather than by the sweat itself. Let his feet air out as much as possible; go barefoot around the house, or use open sandals, flipflops etc. When he has to use closed shoes, use shoes that still allow his feet to breathe, always use clean cotton socks, and use foot powder before putting them on. Have two pairs of shoes available and wear them on alternate days, so they have more time to dry out. Use anti-bacterial soap. Hope this helps!

It is not silly, and it is a very real--but treatable condition.
Foot odor is caused by a superficial fungus, Tinea pedis. It is very commonly seen in people who work out, use showers and the like, and therefore sweat considerably.
Best simple way to get rid of it: Have hubby get a pumice stone and __gently__ scrape off the callous layers. Then apply Mycostatin (Nystatin) or other topical antifungal nightly. If he does this dilligently and regularly, he will have the sweetest-smelling feet in town. It goes without saying that other measures should also be used--like _not_ showering barefoot in public showers like his gym.

Go to health food store. Buy a liquid called "Chlorophyll". Take 1 spoonful daily. Sweet tasting & non-offensive. It will stop foot odor, body odor, bad breath; you name it! He'll be right as rain in a few days.
In the meantime, buy him some Dr. Scholl's charcoal foot inserts, or some odor eaters, until you can target the problem with the chlorophyll.
Good luck!

Soak your feet in tea. Take hot water, fill a foot bath and drop in some tea bags and soak for 30-45 minutes. Did this with my nephew and the foot odor went away.

If you put bicarb soda in his shoes when he's not wearing them then shake it out (leave it in overnight if possible) it removes the stench. get him to always wear socks.
