Hi, firstly, if your mattress is 10+ years old, I would seriously consider investing in a new one, secondly, to clean it is time consuming but try this. Get a bar of toilet soap, just an ordinary bar of soap with no fragrances, then a clean white cloth, rub the cloth on the soap, quite a large amount dear, don't be shy about it, then dip the soapy cloth into a bowl of warm water and vigourously rub on the stain. Don't soak the mattress dear, it will take forever to dry out. When you have done a reasonable patch, lay some clean white towels over the bit your have been cleaning, stand on the towles and GENTLY jump on them. When you get off you will see the dirt on the towels and hopefully your mattress should be a cleaner. Hope this helps :-)

YEP....everybody doesn't WANT your mattress....including you!

Yeah mattresses last about 20 years...so if it's older, get the Newer technology mattresses..

However, if you choose to revive that mattress so your girlfriend doesn't get grossed out when she changes your sheets....well, TRY THIS.

You've seen OXY-CLEAN and you know you can go to the Grocery Store and RENT a $25 Steam Cleaner....
Get the two, and Don't soak your mattress with the solution...you want to put it on and take it off quickly so it doesn't soak too far in..

If the stains are embedded, you can TRY either a soft bristle brush dipped in Oxy-Clean (or Bleach, or one of those RUG stain removers found with the Steam Cleaner....But Oxy-Clean is just good stuff) and work it left/right//up/down and in circles to lift the stain.

I think I would use a bowl of Oxy-Clean and warm water. Use a sponge and test and see if it works.

If it works , get started . I just wouldn't let it get too wet. Make sure that the heat is on to help dry i out.

You would be better off getting a new matress. But if you can't for whatever reason, use Oxy-Clean: That's what I did with a number of old pillows.
