I have had the misfortune of being in two fires. Once as a child and 3 years ago as an adult. Let me tell you...the lives of your family are the only things that matter. We lost a number of pets,,,and to this day I still cry about them. The smell of burnt flesh and charred remains put things in perspective. My life was spared along with my families. But I will never forget the cries for help from our pets that I could not answer. There is no personal item that was important. December 3, 2003, will be in my mind for ever.

1. Parents, Siblings and neighbors in case it's a connected house.
2. Pets
3. The House
4. Insurance papers
5. Money, Credit Cards, Checkbook

My house has caught fire a year ago and that's exactly what I did. I got my mother out and my neighbor's out since the house was connected. I also had gotten the dog, cat and bird out than went and grabbed a hose and did my best to get the fire out before it spreaded. As soon as the fire department arrived I got the insurance papers along with my money, credit cards and checkbook luckily it was all in a fire proof safe along with mine and my mother's birth certificates, social security cards and passports. We were pretty lucky others though aren't so lucky.

Top 4 can be in any order, but I would probaly grab the 4 year old because the others would probaly be running out themselves
