Yep, had it with all my five, all were born on time. Sounds very much like Braxton Hicks to me. If they still keep kick charts, then diligently fill it out. If not, then check your baby is moving. If you feel it kick more than ten times between 7am to 9pm, then you probably okay. If not, a sign that the baby MAY be due soon is very little movement.
If you are really concerned, ask your midwife to sort out a check at the hospital to see if you are having contractions. Either way, there is little you can do. If you are having contractions, the baby will be born, you are far enough into your pregnancy not to cause too much alarm. My advice is to stop worrying and let nature take it's course. If you start to spot blood, or loose any fluids, bypass the midwife and go to the hospital.

Could you be dehydrated? It also reminds me of early preterm labor. With my first child my preterm labor was just a dull backache that came and went. (Mother of 4 boys, there is so much they can do if preterm labor is caught EARLY, your midwife would much rather you call, especially since it was enough to wake you up twice. It will make you feel better to know and that in itself is worth the call)
What are the symptoms of preterm labor?
Call your midwife or doctor right away if you're having ANY
of the following in your second or third trimester (before 37 weeks):
• An increase in vaginal discharge or a change in the type of discharge, meaning if it becomes watery, mucus-like, or bloody (even if it's pink or just tinged with blood)
• Abdominal pain, menstrual-like cramping, or more than four contractions in one hour (even if they don't hurt)
• An increase in pressure in the pelvic area (a feeling that your baby is pushing down)
• Low back pain, especially if you didn't previously have back pain
But it's always better to be safe than sorry, so call your midwife or doctor right away.

Your midwife and/or doctor are there to reassure you, so talk to them. Meanwhile, as experienced by many other expectant mums, these kind of pains are quite normal, it's your body 'limbering up', to push the baby out on the big day. I experienced these a lot with my thrid baby from around 30 weeks and was convinced I was about to give birth despite reassurance, I gave birth at 40 weeks as expected! Needing to know exactly where every toilet in town is, will be the next thing!

I've never suffered your symptoms, but in my experience it sounds like Braxtons, It could also be the way the baby is laying. my advice would to call your Midwife just for peace of mind

I am now 35 weeks along, I have been experiencing the same thing. I went to the hospital and they said that it was false labor. They had to stop my contractions-they got down to 1 minute apart. But they did say that some of that could have been braxtin hicks. Good Luck!

I think it might be your body practising for the labour.
I remember having these and not forgetting you are 30 weeks pregnant. If it continues i would ring the midwife just to be on the safe side.
Good luck
