my husbands grandparents... they are literally millionaires. We dont have a lot of money and I have no idea what to get them and their adopted daughter who is 11. They have everything they need and I want it to be something thoughtful but I just draw a blank. My grandfather doesn't like to eat out at resturants and my grandmother already has someone cleaning for her.. and the adopted child goes to a private school and has everything she could ever want... any ideas?

how about a nice book, for the grandparents something from the era they were born,,,about history or people from that time,,,,,, for the daughter something new and popular for her age,,,, go to booksamillion or barnesandnoble, and im sure they could help you pick something out,,,,,, if you know any interest they have, you could select something from that category,,,

if you live in a cold climate, gloves and scraves are alwasy good,,,,

boxes of candy are good, or any of those gift baskets from hickory farms, they can always use those when they entertain, say for new years

for an 11 year old, autograph books, scrapebooks, stickers, hair ribbons etc perhaps a mixture of those and other things in a gift bag, is popular

dont concentrate on what they have,,, just think about what is nice and that you think they will like,,,,,

For your grandmother a book... find out what she is interested in.. or maybe an elaborate tapestry for her to complete ..(If she is into those things)..

Your Grandfather.. something to do with your family history.. a wall plaque if he has not already got one.. try a geaneology shop and find out your family history.. that always makes Grandparents happy. OR... have a realllllllly OLD photo of your grandparents enlarged and put in a nice frame.

For the 11 year old I think a stirling silver jewellery set. - Or just the bracelet. It never goes out of style and looks like white gold. It also lasts forever. A charm bracelet is a classic.

That is hard but a gift basket of goodies you made (if you cook) is always nice. Here is a site with other ideas.... some are pricey some are not.

Get them walkie talkies to play or have fun with. They are old and should find walkie talkies practical to use. Get the girl a book on etiquette.

Family photos or copies of videos, especially if you have children (their great-grandchildren). Bring over food and cook them dinner during the holiday season.

Poverty and knowledge are the only things you can get for someone who already has it all. Buy them a book or take all their money.
