***** means "black" in the Spanish and Portuguese, being derived from the Latin word niger of the same meaning. It came in the English tongue through the Portuguese and Spanish slave trade. Prior to the 1970s, it was the dominant term for Black people of African origin; in the great majority of English-language contexts (except its inclusion in the names of some organizations founded when the term had currency, e.g. the United ***** College Fund), it is now considered either archaic or a slur in most contexts.

The black AND white and other true AMERICANS who are legal citizens of the USA should stand together to let the government know about unjustices to the voting people of this country.. Do not divide yourselves to races black OR white or Latina or Irish or Italian or German. We are the 'united' states of America. Don't be divided. United we stand. Together we are a bigger voice. Violence is not a viable way of life for anyone. Injustices can be better fought with peaceful protests, voicing the issues with local, state and federal leaders. E-mail senators and congressmen. JOIN 'with' other legal American citizens to make changes for the better. We are NOT all racists. Every legal citizen should have the same rights.....th' best to ya'.

It means black (the color) in many languages. In Spanish its *****, in German Negger (as in schwarzenegger) and Nero in Italian. The word is not derogatory. Not even when its use as a race classification. (Same as when you say in English "Proud to be black". In spanish: "Orgullo de ser *****" or "fiero essere nero" in italian.

The word Nigro is no related to the derogatory use of the word "Niger", which seems to have its origins in the name they used to call people from Nigeria who were made slaves. The word took a negative connation by the way they used it to de-nigrate black people.
