A lot of promiscuity in the gay community (not that there is as much as there is rumored to be) would be stabilized, I think, by allowing for marriage between same sex couples. It would give a lot of people a legal reason to try and work things out, and allow them to feel as though society didn't want them to have many partners and settle down.

Of course, as it is, I agree with most people who have already answered. It's not gay men in general who are promiscuous. It's the person specifically who is.

Depends on the homosexual. There are homosexual men that have a lot of partners and there are homosexuals that have few or just one.Same as with heterosexual men. There are some heterosexual men who sleep with as many women as they can and others who only sleep with a few or just one.

Statistically speaking, I don't think there is any way to know for sure what the entire homosexual population does and since there are more heterosexuals then homosexuals the statistic would not be very accurate in comparison if one could be accurately made.

No! That's a myth. Gay men are just as likely to date and have as many sexual partners as straight people do. I have only had 2 relationships in my life, my first partner of 4 years, died in an accident. My second and current partner has been with me for over 12 years. Most of our friends have been in long relationships as well.

I see this as a GOOD thing, if it's true.

Humans are open, sexual beings. And the ability to tell the difference between sexual needs and needs of the soul is very powerful.

Many gay men are in long-term relationships, but fool around with plenty of other people. These are some of the most freeing men you know. Their heart is still commited to one person, yet they're open enough to play with others and not keep all the love they wield selfishly to themselves. They would bring you to your knees upon first glance, such is the power they wield. They have completely and irrevocably, destroyed homophobia.

Okay, you can certainly take things too far. But so? EVERYTHING can be abused and taken for granted. I could wrap this insignificant mouse cord around my neck and strangle myself. You can turn anything 'evil' if you so desire. But in it's nature, everything is good.

Even sleeping around.

Some do , I'd say mostly the younger generation due to lack of commitment to just about anything in life .

while others of us don't > some of us have long term relationships that last a lifetime just like heterosexuals due hence one reason why we want the same rights .

As far as I know they do but they eventually they taper off at least I would hope they do. I think once they have they eventually settle down with one partner.

It's a stereotype. Sure, there are promiscuous gay men out there, just like there are promiscuous straight men and promiscuous women.

i dunno, my good male gay friend hasnt gotten laid in years, i think it depends on location, if a gay lives in a large area with good gay clubs then he may have a large amount of sexual partners.
a better question would be who has the most sexual partners, straight folk, bisexuals, gays?
