I have played for 25 years on and off. More off but sometimes on.
I have had a nice epiphone acoustic in my teens. I currently have and play a JS 1000 Ibanez electric.

I want to get a *NICE* acoustic, I am not rich, but I realize it is going to be an investment starting at $2000.00.

Of the Martin's, Guild, Taylor guitars or other brands, which brand or model should be considered over the others. I live in CT if that makes a difference.

Honestly I paid $1000.00 for my electric and I am NOT that impressed in hindsight (even has 1 bad fret), I obviously don't want to make the same mistake again with my Acoustic Guitar purchase.

Thanks

stick with a taylor. i'd have one but i can't afford it. my brother in law has one, i can't recall the model, i think it was one of the more rare ones they made, but it only cost him i think like $2500. its made out of some brazillian wood and mahogany. its an elecrtc acoustic. ive played gibsons, epiphones, martins, but there just aint nothin that plays like his taylor.

Takamine makes arguably the best low quality guitars. I personally would spend about $400 and get a Seagull, because they are amazing guitars.

Have you considered an Ovation? Try one, they're amazing. My opinion, but unless you get a handmade, you can't do better.
