Yes, we came through that communist thing but our life still isn't that good. At least that's what some people around here say. I was just one year old when the communist era ended in my country (1989). --- someone from a country in the south-east of the central Europe (you have to guess what country). Where are you from anyway?

I'm American Indian, but like Europe fine. Now if Europe would just accept American Indian people...no wait, they already do ;) More so than the people in Connecticut, that's for certain.
And to Roxy, how absolutely ignorant of you to say you're the only people with "culture." That was the exact same mentality that people applied to us in the 1600s. People are different and have the right to be different. When you have a degree in communication with an intercultural focus, then we'll talk.

To Germany, really loved visiting your beautiful country. The streets were so clean you could eat off them and the people were so polite.
To Spain..in a word...WOW! Stunning.
To France, a completely different world out there, never felt so refreshed as I did taking in the scenery of your idyllic country.
To the rest of Europe, hope to do some more exploring soon and discover the delights you have to offer.
Have a good day :)

Poland. The country that produced Copurnicas and Marie Curie, invented vodka, thank you.
Germany. I love living in your country, thanks for making me welcome. The British didn't
France. Power to the people and the 35 hour week
Italy. Two fingers stuck up at the world and we love you for it. Forza Ferrari!
Hungary. Best food in Europe.
Spain. A land where old people can be happy and loved.
Croatia. Hi to the folks in Nowa Gradiska. I love your town
Serbia. I found the spot that I would most like to live in your country. I'm not saying where because I don't want anyone to beat me to it
Slovenia. Love your new roads!
Sorry I haven't mentioned you all, but I have also been to Portugal, Belgium, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Australia, Argentina, Japan etc etc. I have always enjoyed my travels and valued the chance to learn about other cultures and appreciate the world a bit more.

Hmmm. Its a good time for peace and goodwill so here's my contribution:
France you really make lovely bread and pastries, and I just loved my trip to the Loire. I also love the way you guys say the word 'sauce' and have lots of French friends.
Germany, you guys make the best steaks and beer in the world. I also really appreciated the good people of Munster putting up with my awful attempt at German and making me feel really at home. You are a friendly bunch.
Spain, wow you have some gorgeous architecture and some amazing art museums. Well done for having Dali, Picasso, Goya, and so many other brilliant artists. You should also win a Nobel Peace Prize for the invention of Sangria.
Italy, you are such a romantic well dressed lot and mighty friendly too. I love your cooking and your countryside. Thanks for showing me a little slice of the Dolce Vita each time I visit.
Belgium, you might be small, but bravo for discovering that mayonaisse is the best thing to put on chips and for making the best chocolate in the world. Also, thank you for Jean Claude Van Damme.
Poland, I can't wait to visit. I have met such a lot of lovely Polish people over here.
And to the rest of Europe, lets all feel good about ourselves for being part of something so big. Maybe one day there will be a world union and we will all learn to get along better. Hooray to us for setting a good example!
Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, Feliz Navidad, Buone Feste Natalizie, Zalig Kerstfeast, Boze Narodzenie, Feliz Natal,Noeliniz Ve Yeni Yiliniz Kutlu Olsun ,Kala Christouyenna!
(That's Merry Christmas in a few of the European languages!)

As a classical musician, I naturally turn to Europe every time.
I just marvel at Beethoven, Bach and Brahms (Germany), Mozart (Austria), Dvorak (the old Czechoslovakia), Berlioz and Faure (France), Vivaldi and Verdi (Italy), Chopin (Poland), Field (Ireland), Sweelinck (Netherlands), Elgar (UK), Grieg (Norway), Liszt (Hungary), Resphigi (Spain) and the music from other, smaller countries, which are so rich in diversity and quality.
It's then that I know we are part of a common culture and background covering many centuries, and it feels good to be home.
Europe is the best place to be in the world!

You just have to look at the culture - art, architecture, literature, philpsophy, fashion etc that has come from Europe to see that it is far superior to that which the good old US of A has given us. I'd much rather see closer links to Europe than that lot, for whom the expression 'dumbing down' seems to have been invented.
