Even when your Catholic Priest suggests you leave, how?

Same problem here. I love her when she is normal, and resent the heck out of her at other times. I do love her, but I'm just not happy being a door mat. Were seperated and see each other regular. I don't like it, because I like being married etc;. It's like having a girlfriend that keeps tabs on you.

Is that the only reason your leaveing ? Because the way I see it you have to work at a marriage .. its just not going to sit there and work for you..

Take note from a person that has Bi Polar.. I had to learn to live with mine takeing care of a child... I was better not takeing meds.. Because I didn't like to be a zombie.. so everyday I do a work out .. and it helps.. there are times that i'm bad but I can live with thoses times then every damn day of my life...

Why don't you learn what he going through then just walking away its not easy to live with but at least you should support the one you loved

Try to get the person the help they need. If you have kids, get custody of them. No child should be raised in chaos. If they are seeing a therapist, you may want to break the news in the doctors office, just in case the bi-polar flips.

If the person is not currently getting help and on meds, you could make an ultimatum that if they don't get help you are leaving (with the kids if you have them). Do what you have to do for your sanity. Don't forget the kids if you have any.

The same way you walk away from an abusive marriage or a marriage to an alcoholic or drug addict...they are all forms of emotional or mental illness. However, the troubles that come with those illnesses are sometimes so severe that trying to stay together can make them worse. You need to take care of yourself and not let their problem become your problem. Let them get the professional help they need and perhaps someday you will be able to get back together...it is not an easy thing to do but don't let it ruin your life....it won't help them. Good luck

you've answered your own question! Look at all, write down the pos and neg and c wre you go from there. Some times it could be more destructive to stay But you should be looking at yourself first and ask the question why am i even thinking this. In other peoples misfortune we too can learn about ourselves. My wife has Lupus and i have a 4yr Boy. Easy to leave!!

If the partner is a danger to you and your safety---get going. If your happiness and future are at stake---get moving. You can be miserable all by yourself...without a partner. Any chance of medical help---and medication? If is worth saving you need to try---otherwise get going and find your happiness somewhere else. Merry xmas

this is a tough one... marriage IS for better or worse and in sickness and health but if your parnter is abusive towards you because of the bi polar it is another story. this is very hard, and no one can make this decision for you - and no one can judge your decision either way because only you are in the situation. all the best.
