you can take her out now as long as you keep her warm...if you do keep her away from people touching her unless its someone you know and they are not sick..don't want her catching germs...the cold weather does not make your child sick, germs do...

i read in the dec/jan issue of parenting magazine that you really dont need to dress an infant in any more layers than you dress yourself when you go out......they say that after the first few days of life babies regulate their body temperature very well (the only exception is if the baby was born premature, then you want to talk to your dr. about taking the baby in the cold)....it goes on to say that overbundling can cause the baby to perspire and get heat rash...

i was having the same concerns as you...my baby is due on xmas and i wanted to know how early i could take her out.....getting your baby in the fresh air is also good for him/her if they are jaundice!!!

and also, for the people that say that they will be infected with germs and what have you....there have been studies that show that children in too clean of an environment are more prone to have allergies because they were never given the chance to build up a natural immunity to the elements around them!!!

I've heard it said that you should wait a week to two weeks to let the baby's body regulate itself. Then as long as you dress her weather appropriately, you can take her anywhere you wish to go. I know people who have had their infants out within days, however, and the babies have been okay. It's a matter of when you feel comfortable taking her out.

When ever you feel comfortable taking her out and as long as you keep her warm.My daughter who is now a year old was born in December and me and my mom took her to walmart with us when she was 2-4 days old.But some people are not comfortable taking their babys out untill they are 2 weeks old and have their fist shots, then some people don't take them out till they are older and then you got people like me who waisted no time at all.Just take her out when you feel comfortable or if you want talk to the docter and get his opinion.

You can take baby out as soon as you leave the hospital provided you both got a clean bill of health. I took my 1st baby out at 3 days old and my second one was out and about at a day old.

Because it is cold, unless you live in a warmer climate, it would be best to not take her out until after winter due to infants having a low immune system.

If you live in a climate that is 70 degrees or more (Fahrenheit) then waiting until she is a month old would be better due to the same reason stated above.

For leisure activities anyway, obviously this does not apply to necessary outings, like doctor's appointment.

You can take her out now make sure she is warm. I was told the rule is whatever you would be warm in plus one layer. Make sure you cover her carrier with a blanket so wind and sun do not get too her. And as much as people will tell you that newborns can not get a cold they can so beware of malls for long shopping trips or even family that are sick.

Honestly, as soon as you feel ready. As everyone has said, just keep him/her bundled up if it is cold but don't over dress the baby because that could cause him/her to overheat. As the mother to 5, I have taken my children out to the store or to see friends and family well before they were even a month old and none of them have been sick from it. I've always brought with me a bottle of hand sanitizer and asked anyone who wanted to hold my baby to please use it. Don't feel bad in asking, it's your baby and you want him/her healthy.

as long as you keep her warm and dry you can take her out anytime. just be careful where you take her. at this time of year there are all sorts of germs in the air so shops, cafes, restaurants, etc wouldn't be good for her. a nice walk would probably do you both good. you don't have to be a prisoner in your own house. good luck. get as much sleep as you can! and take any help that is offered t xxx

All babies will be very tender, because they are newly born, becasue it u try to take them out in this worst pollution, she will be effected, her body will not have so much of restistence to be protected from pollution, bad weather, etc, u can take her out or try to take her out after 7 months only so that she can have little resistence in the body.
