Whilst a training course is worth while, nothing beats hands on experience. I would advise you try to get on a project with your current skills which will allow you exposure to SAP, or seek a permanent opportunity within a SAP user or consultancy where they are willing to re-train you. The SAP market is very bouyant, but you will be competing with consultants with extensive experience.

It is a tough world for SAP newbies:

1- You have to be very very motivated
2- You have to train a lot on the SAP modules
3- You need to pass the certification
4- You have to create a good resume
5- You need to find a good project
6- On the project you need to do something interesting and learn SAP things.
7- After 2 years SAP experience you are a SAP consultant.
8- After 3 years you can ask a decent salary.
9- After 5 years you can start working as a freelancer

Through my last job I start first using SAP as a simple user , then I got more training and I was promoted to Key user and so on. So my advice will be to find a company near you who uses SAP and apply for a job there, normally business that use SAP they do so in every department , so surely you will get your training and you will find very useful , once there you will be learning all the time different procedures at all levels and you will have a chance to be promoted as I did.
If you find a company has just started using SAP your chances will be even better

Good luck

I would suggest you contact an SAP training centre. There is still quite a demand for SAP specialists but you have to have the training first before you are considered for employment. All the best.
