The Blue Screen of Death (sometimes called "bluescreen", "stop error" or just abbreviated as "BSoD") is a popular name for the screen displayed by Microsoft's Windows operating system when it cannot recover from, or is in danger of being unable to recover from, a system error. There are two Windows error screens that are both referred to as the blue screen of death, with one (Windows NT 4/2000/XP) being significantly more serious than the other (Windows 9x). There are several causes of the blue screen popping up. It can be a poorly-written device driver, bad memory, damaged registry or usage of incompatible versions of DLLs..... take your computer case off and make sure all your hardware is inserted into your motherbord properly.. e.g. graphic card.... and make sure all the power cables are connected to the hard drive DVD drive etc... hopefully this is all that it is, if not your registry is screwed or some thing like that... good luck

Enter in computer's BIOS settings. Press Either F1/F2/F7/Delete as applicable to enter in BIOS while starting the computer. Once you are in check if your cd/dvd drive is still detected there. change the boot sequence to make it boot first if needed. Then press F10 to save the settings and come out. Then try putting the windows installation disk in the tray. If it does not open automatically then insert a paper clip through the tiny hole in the front panel of the cd/dvd drive. Then put the installation disk in, then restart or Turn off, and then turn ON. It should boot from the installation disk.

If you are able to boot from the installation disk then choose to install New, at this screen if you get an option to Repair, bypass it. on the next screen Press F8 to license agreement. Then computer detects hardware. At the next screen you will see options to install on a partition. Now press R to do a repair a windowsXP installation. Proceed as the on screen instructions. If you do a Repair, then only the corrupted windows files will be replaced, and all other programs and other data on the computer will remain safe.

Hello
Well it seems to me like a Hardware Issue! And it very well be ur DVD Drive which is not properly Installed!
Most Blue screen errors are due to Hardware conflict between the Software(OS) and the hardware and Drivers!
So simply remove the drive or any other hardware you think it was recently troubling you.

There are more steps to find the exact solution if the above didnt work! Let me know!

Keep Smiling
