if 12 people stand in a circle, there are 11 gaps...
11*2 = 22 is the circumference(2*pi*r)

2* pi *r = 22
2*r = 22*7/22
2r = 7

Diameter = 7 is the distance across..

The children are at the vertices of a regular
dodecahedron, each side of 2 m length.

Draw an isosceles triangle from the centre
of the dodecahedron to 2 adjacent vertices.

The central angle will be 360 / 12 = 30º.
The other 2 angles are therefore 75º each.

A line from the centre to a vertex is a radius
of the dodecahedron's circumcircle, which
is the circle the children are on.

If radius = R, we can say from the triangle that
R / sin(75º) = 2 / sin(30º) = 2 / (1/2) = 4
Therefore, R = 4sin(75º).

From tables, sin(75º) = (√6 + √2) / 4

So, R = √6 + √2 and thus,
diameter = 2(√6 + √2),
which is approximately 7.727 metres.

Model the children as identical and cylindrical. Then the distance 2m is the distance between two sequential axis. If this distance is a straight line it subtends pi/6 radians at the centre and some rigorous methods become necessary.
Else if it is along the circumference 2 = r . (pi/6) where r is the radius of the circle and simply r= 12/pi

an = a1 + (12 - 1)r
an = 1 + (12 - 1)2
an = 1 + 11 * 2
an = 1+ 22
an = 23 m
Answer: The distance across the circle is 23 meters.

Hmm... what are they two meters apart from? Each other? Because it sounds more like a 12-sided figure than a circle. the question's kind of confusing.

Multiply out 2(9y+3) - 8 = -4 18y + 6 - 8 = -4 simplify 18y - 2 = -4 upload +2 to the two aspects 18 y - 2 + 2 = -4 + 2 simplify 18y = -2 divide the two aspects by using 18 18y/18 = -2/18 y = -a million/9

Assuming the distance between them is taken on the circumference of the circle (not linear)

1. Two meters apart from their center (center of gravity):
c=12*2m=24m
D=c/PI=24/3.1415=7.639m

2.Two meters apart each other plus their width (aprox. 0.6m):
c=12*(2+0.6)m=31.2m
D=31.2/PI=9.931m

Since they stand in circular path, there is 12 spaces between the 12 children, hence, 12 x 2m = 24m

circumference :11 m if u ignore the thickness of the children

but C=2 x pie x r

or r = C/ 2X(22/7)

therefore : r= Cx7/44

therefore r = 77/44 or 7/4

OR SIMPLY r = 1.75m
or DIAMETER = 3.5m
(d = 2xr)

so the distance across the circle is 3.5m
