Nope! We do that for a reason, so folks like you can't install unauthorized software on your machines. Actually, it's NOT your computer, it's the company's. You do NOT have the right to install anything on OUR computer without OUR permission!

Locking down the desktop prevents virus infections and lots of user-induced problems. Since we locked ours down, our support costs have plummeted over 70%!

BTW, if you attempt to hack the local Admin account, your network access will be blocked and your manager will be informed of that fact. Normally that will result in your temination. If for no other reason than you won't be able to do your job as you will NOT be getting your network access back!

And for the uninformed rubes out there, the F8 trick only works if the Administrator account has a BLANK password! We're not that stupid in IT that we would deploy a workstation with a blank admin password! In fact, we have a script that sets it automatically when we build a new box.

So get yer butt back to work and stop truing to f*ck with your employer's machine. Unless you LIKE being unemployed!

There's no way. You will need to log into your computer as "Administrator" or the administrator can grant your user ID with administrator privileges.

If there's a legit purpose for installing new software, ask the administrator.
