Ehm..
I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. Limewire is a safe and reliable program but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

Maybe a firewall. Try downloading Mozilla firefox, I really like that browser. It's not dangerous, if there is a file that not good it lets you know before downloading it. I get all my music there.

Try checking your firewall.
Go to control panel and then windows firewall.
Or..if you have an anti-virus program such as Norton that may also be preventing it.
It can be dangerous..and illegal if you are downloading music.
