You really need to check out "White Nights" with Greg Hines and Mikael Barishnikov.
Also, "Moscow on the Hudson", starring Robin Williams. My Russian teacher in CA was William's Russian tutor for the movie. All his Russian is authentic.

If you want to check out something really unusual which reflected the times in which it was made, check out "Big Jim McLain" which starred John Wayne and featured Jim Arness. Wayne is a commie hunter in Hawaii.
