There is no reason why they would affect your baby. The idea that eating spiced foods is not natural is ridiculous - if so, how do people who live in countries where eating spicy food is the norm ever have healthy babies?
A salad is a good thing to eat while pregnant, and if you want a bit of chilli with it, go for it. Just don't overdo it as it might give you heartburn or digestive problems.

No should be fine my craving when I had my first was vindaloo curry with a spoon like soup, I at hot curries throughout my pregnancy although I did once ask my midwife if she thought I could have burned my baby, in particular it's eyes if what I was eating eventually cae part of the ammniotic fluid, she laughed, said was fine but was suprised I never got indegestion or heartburn- which I never did.
Indian & Jamacian ladies don't suddenly opt for a mild alternative to there varied spicy hot diet. Enjoy your food.

Will it affect it for life? No. Will it affect it, yes.. What I mean is that what ever you eat your baby eats. So spicy foods may not be a really good choice and should be avoided. A little bit spicy should be alright. What my wife did was to eat foor that was a little spicy. If she noticed that the baby was moving allot at night, she would consume a little less next time. But you really should consult your physician and a get a confirmed answer. Good luck and congrats!
Cheers!

It is better not to eat spicy/hot flavoured foods when pregnant. The act of conception, growth and birth is a natural thing, the way it has always been, eating highly spiced food is not. Help your baby have a good start in life, give him a good body and mental health, by eating natural foods. Fruit and vegetables and protein in its` natural state. It is only nine months and you can wait for your `chili burgers` ! Congratulations !

I doubt that it will harm your baby...the thing you have to be more concerned with is how your body is going to take it...you may get really bad heartburn. I used to love spinach, can't stand it now that I am pregnant. It is worth giving it a shot, just don't eat too much right away, or eat it slowly, to see how your body will react too it

I think this will be fine as long as its not too hot. people eat hot curries while pregnant and thats got chillies!
Its mainly dairy products thats unsafe to eat like soft cheese, egg mayo, under cooked eggs.
ask your health visitor for a leaflet on what is safe and what is not.

No reason why it would hurt the baby it is obviously a craving you have now and will probably keep throughout the pregnancy.
Good luck

may mum ate lots of spicy food when she was carrying me, result - i love spicy food. i love it. i dont see why not, if you want to eat this then you should. remember, a child that likes spicy food means that they wont be fussy, just vary your meals as this way your baby will be able to get a variation of lots of food and be able to get plenty of nutrition!!
