Hi all.

Through the night i got up to get my daughter a drink and i was really dizzy but i just pressumed it was because i was tired. I got up once more and felt the same.

When i woke this morning i was feeling even dizzier and had to keep lying down. I had a coffee and tried to eat some cereal and i have just thrown it all back up.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? What could it be!

You could have 'vertigo', or what they call a labrynthine imbalance of the inner ear. If you do have this, you will get a sensation of 'spinning' and will perhaps not be able to look up, down, or sit up. It is not at all pleasant, may leave you house bound for a few days, but it will go. Sometimes you get this if a virus attacks your inner ear, but you don't have to have an ear infection to get this.

The best thing to do is try and keep still and rest if it is that and they can give you pills that will help a little (it can take a day to a few weeks to dissapear), but you should see your GP as soon as you can to get a diagnosis. I've had bouts of vertigo since I was 16, it's not nice!

Sounds to me like you have a touch of vertigo. Basically it doesn't mean a fear of heights but it is an inner ear problem whereby your sense of balance is affected leaving you dizzy and nauseous. My ex girlfriend experienced this several times. See your doctor and he will give you a prescription for some drugs to help the nausea and to help the dizziness. The drugs for the dizziness are basically anti psychotics which have a sedative affect and will slow your system down sufficiently to prevent the dizzy feeling.

Get well soon.

not sure where you are living but here in az where i am, there is a nasty stomach flu going around with the same symptoms. my dr said he saw about 15 people with it over the past week.

my boyfriend,me,all 3 of my kids, and my best friend all got it.

the dr says it lasts about 6 days. nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness are the symptoms

the hardest thing to do with this virus is eat or drink anything b/c it makes you so nauseated but you have to try (take small sips every 10-15 minutes). don't worry so much about the food part. make sure to keep pushing the fluids so you don't get dehydrated.

this may sound silly but i drank pedialyte and it seemed to help alot. i like the fruit punch kind

if it continues past the 6 days and you don't feel like you are starting to get better-make an appt to see your dr

Ooooh, poor you. Sounds like maybe labyrinthitis (inflammation of the inner ear). This makes you feel really sea sick. It's usually viral, so there's no cure - you just have to wait for it to pass (several days). You should get a proper diagnosis from a doctor though. Also, the doctor can prescribe anti-emetic (anti sickness) mediaction to help the symptoms.

Hmmmmm have you asked your doctor if this could be menieres disease 9dont a disease as such just imblance rather like seasickness) these are classic symtoms......do you have ringing in your ears ? (tinnitus) does the room rotate during the dizzy spells ? do you still feel dizzy laying down ?

Go to your doctor could be an inner ear thing going on

I think it could be a really great reason to go and see your doctor . It is probably nothng to worry about but you may need some tests doing. Have you had a blood sugar level done and are you drinking enough water ? It may be a side effect from the gastric flu if this was fairly recently. See you doc xx

Does the symptoms change after eating sweets? Because it really sounds like low blood sugar. It could very well be low iron levels..this would explain the general sickness. Try asking your doctor about these, because neither is something to home remedy.

It could be not eating for a long period of time making your blood sugar level really low and then eating a larger portion can cause you to feel sick. Also it could be that your blood pressure is very low.

maybe you are in the early stages of pregnancy. i got pregnant with my oldest daughter when i was on the pill. but if you dont think that you are pregnant perhaps you have the start of the flu or a tummy bug. either way go to your gp just to be sure.
get well soon. xxxx
