I named my cat after a Lemurian Goddess named Zania and I wonder if anyone knows anything about her.

I do; the Lost Land of Lemuria ( also called the Mu land) was a land where amphibious-reptilian creatures lived; however we do not know much about Lemuria, Historian believe that the Gods and Goddesses of Lemuria were those the Dogon tribe tells about; ancient myths of Lemuria became then those of Sumer, Ancient Egypt, and Ancient Greece.

Completely fake....

A theory by a British scientist before "plate tectonics' were realized to explain why some things in the Indian Ocean happened.

This theory was advanced in the 19th century by Philip Sclater.

The only religious significance was the "Roman Lemuria" which were the 'restless undead'..... no connection to this landmass (the Romans did not know of the existence of the Indian Ocean....)
