It just sounds as if the bar was too small, see how you go with the bigger bar i reckon you'll be fine now!!
If its still sore in a week or two go back.

You should keep your hands away from the piercing at all times other than to clean it.. which should be done every night with saline solution (salt water) and tissue, was told never to use cotton wool as fibres can get in to piercing!!

Also check what metal your piercing is (I'm sensitive to surgical steel...something to do with the nickel) you might want to ask the piercer to use titanium jewellery.

Good Luck

no problems with that particular piercing, what you could try to lower the swelling and draw out any yukky stuff. get some table salt in a bowl (about 1/2 a teaspoon) and add water to make a thick paste let it harden slightly then put around the hole (on your face) best to do before bed it wont hurt and put as much that can stick. Wash off in the morning do it for about 4 days or until the swelling has gone down, if this doesnt work go back to your piercer! good luck with that x

Very undesirable certainly! they look disgusting and you get distinctive infections from them and how could you kiss somebody with a tongue piercing? Monroe piercings are not particularly so undesirable i assume yet I reckon they could desire to proceed to exist ears or bellybuttons perhaps... I completely consider right here to guard and to Serve! xx and that i think of what Laura C stated is truthfully disgusting! Getting your tongue chop up?! what's extra interest searching for than THAT?!

hiya,
a similar thing happend to my labret piercing, and like one of your other answers suggests, using salt will help, also, while your indoors even though the weather is a bit nippy, suck on an ice lolly or ice cube as this will help bring the swelling down!!!

My friend had problems with that piercing. His piercer said that some people reject that piercing. Your body just doesn't want it and won't stop fighting to get it out. I had that problem with my belly button years ago my body just didn't want it there. Use your judgment if it stays swollen and won't heal then obviously you need to take it out, it just wasn't meant to be.
