No the sun's not a white-dwarf - it's a yellow-dwarf. The white-dwarf stage is at the end of a star's life, so they don't become red-giants. The sun's got about 5 billion years to go before it becomes a red-giant.

The sun is NOT in a white dwarf stage at this time -- that is what it will be after it completely runs out of fuel. Red giant phase will happen in about five billion years, when the core runs out of helium. I have estimated the date of this event as April 1, 5,000,000,147 AD, on the basis of no evidence whatsoever. (Note the day of the year.)

No it isn't, it's halfway thru its main sequence stage and has another five billion years to go before it runs out of hydrogen to burn. At that point it will expand to a red giant (vaporizing the inner planets including Earth) and eventually settle down to a white dwarf for a good long time.

Presently the Sun is NOT ANY KIND of dwarf star.
Its a medium yellow star.
It will take about 4.8 billion star to become a red-giant.
At this stage it will engulf all planets till mars.
After that when the outer shell collapses at about 5-5.1 billion years will it become a WHITE DWARF (scarcity of hydrogen results).
from then on it will continue to exist to about 15 billion years.

The sun is not a white-dwarf.
It will eventually swell up and lose surface temperature but it will never become a red giant, only a small one!
