I love seeing films in the theatre - there is nothing that matches the experience.
I don't see as many as I used to because of the crap quality, the rudeness (talking, cell phones) and the &%$#! commercials that they started showing before the movies.
They need to make more original films, not just the action crap based on a video game. Silly movies such as "Big fat Greek wedding" make millions and they write most movies of that genre off, while continuing to make sequels to action movies that no one wants to see and then they wonder where the audience went. Sometimes we just want a sweet chick flick or a comedy that's funny, not gross. I mean, do we really need any more movies like Mission Impossible or Superman? They looked bad from the start - so people avoided them They seem to give us heavy dramas, action, horror or teen comedy. More small interesting movies and good comedy would be perfect.

First off, make people shut up when the movie is playing.
Make people turn off their cell phones.
Make the rows of seats further apart so you dont have someones head in your way.
Lower the prices of the movie and the snacks.
Make more sci fi and fantasy movies (the previews to Eregon look good).
Have a no childrens time when adults can view a movie without babies crying or children asking questions or teens throwing stuff.
I havent been to a theater in about 10 years or more. It wasnt the prices at the time that drove me away but the lack of management controlling noise and kids throwing things.

I'd love to go out and watch movies on the big screen, but the real reason why I don't go out to the movies because of the cost of watching the movie. On average, an evening adult ticket is $10.00 each. And the snacks cost an arm and a leg too! It's getting more expensive nowadays to go out for a movie at the theaters. I'd rather save my money elsewhere and wait until the movie comes out on DVD now.
I used to work at a movie theater back in 1997-2000 where general adult tickets were around $6-$7.

despite DVD's being better or having the pleasure of watching it in a more relaxed environment(or being able to rewind a favorite scene),the movie theatre experience for me is the best.i was 7 years young when my mom took me to see Pinocchio and the experience was so magical for me-i believe it's part of why i became an artist.the dark, huge environment,a 24 ft.or so "TV" screen(to a 7 year old)-WOW,the pop-corn and the most important part of all sharing the experience with a lot of people and FEELING THE ENERGY in that room!
I still go to the movies even if i have my own DVD collections. Some movies are MEANT for thr big screen and not everybody has the luxury of owning a 47"-50 plus plasma TV,LCD projection TV whatever! For me the main things they can do to get people go to cinemas again are the following:
-LOWER THE TICKET PRICES,IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS
-movie trailers are fine but please-NO COMMERCIALS.We already get the commercials in TV at home FOR FREE!
-INSTALL CELL PHONE SIGNAL JAMMING DEVICES to eliminate those MORONS who can't understand the damned rule.If you're really expecting a call, you have no business being inside a theatre at all.
-Popcorn/soda(anything @ those concesion stands!) prices are
ridiculousy expensive!
- have a card like they give out in those expensive trendy Coffee shops where after you purchase 10 or so,the next one is FREE!(but since movies are more than twice the price of those kinda javas,it shoild be after the 5th movie, next one free!)

Im glad that someone realizes this. I love going to the movies because I truely do appreciate the art of cinema, I mean these days people are just going to make out and socialize, I really do take it seriously. Unfortunately, the films that are coming out today are just a bunch of chick flicks and bad violence scenes and distasteful comedy ramps about some guy who falls in love with some dumb broad. I jump at the chance to see meaningful films, which are rare, and I wish there were more people like me who love fims as much as I do.

I absolutely love going to the theatre. Sure, there will always be many shallow movies, but there are also many interesting and worthwhile films to see. A month or two ago I saw 'Flags of Our Fathers' and even though I typically dislike warfilms, I was very impressed and moved by this one. Also...the dark environment of the theater and comfortable seating have a psychological effect on me that is inimitable anywhere else...I always feel giddy after seeing movies in the theatre.

If they were to drop the prices of movies and drinks ect so you dont half to pay 40 bucks to take you and a friend to the movies is a main deal for me.. Another is BRING OUT GOOD MOVIES.. I dont know about all of you but most of the movies that have came out the last few years just suck with the exceptions of a few movies i did manage to go and see but thier werent many.. Bring out more sci-fi Horror movies that are good and not just remakes of old ones or bite offs of them either

I think the genre these days are just not interested in going to watch a movie. Not to mention most of these movies aren't as exciting or as good as they use to be. People just prefer to wait for the DVD to come out and watch the movie at home. I dont go anymore...unlesss I find a babysitter.

I went to a film festival recently and I saw 8 films within a week. None of them was what you would call a 'Hollywood movie'.
I would love to go to the cinema more often, but in most cases there is simply nothing to see...

It would take someone to go with. I love movies, even bad ones, but I feel so freakish going alone since I am female. People look at you like what? You freak! You couldn't get a date? Don't have any friends?
I would go for some movies from the good ol good days of the silver screen though! Danny Kaye, Fred n Ginger, Doris Day....*sigh* I sure would run the gauntlet for that!
