I think they made up their names in design school and actually had a fight about it. They were both top of their class and decided on their names, but had a "diva" type war over their fashionista names. They neither one would back down on their decision, so both wound up just keeping their names and they became what they are today.
pretty whack eh?

Neither... Anne Klein died in 1974 at the age of 51, so they're definitely not married. I don't believe they are of any sort of relation at all.
