Mine would have to be Q.

In his own way he was always trying to help Picard and co. He just went about it the wrong way.

At least he went on to annoy Cathy Janeway for a few seasons.

Male character: Captain Picard -- he's everything a Starfleet captain should be and the captain whose ship I'd want to be on if Starfleet was a reality.

Female character: B'Elanna Torres -- as someone of mixed ethnicity, I liked seeing them tackle some of the issues that come with belonging to more than one world/culture and never really belonging anywhere completely. I loved that B'Elanna was a strong, intelligent, powerful woman in a traditionally male-dominated field (engineering), but that she had her weaknesses and vulnerabilities. I wish they hadn't kept flogging the "angry Klingon B'Elanna" storyline like a dead horse though . . .

I used to fancy Riker but Jonathan Frakes is a terrible actor, that's what turned me off him in the end, he makes a much better director. There is no character in any of the Star Trek series, old and new, that I don't like, so I must love them all.

As some of the others said, Spock for his logic, Data, who seemed more 'human' than the others, Cpt Jean Luc Picard, Scotty, Worf and the character that Whoopi Goldberg played (?).

Spock of course. Very logical, and always pointing out the stupidity and immaturity of human behavior when people get out of line, to set people straight. He was right about things because he was logical, not because people liked him. There's not enough of that on TV anymore.

Most hated character: Janeway. They made her more Captain Kirk than Captain Kirk, which she always came off too unbelievable.

If you mean the original Star Trek then I would say Bones. If you mean out of all the shows then I would say Neelix.

I liked the Chekov. (correct spelling ?)

Was cool... cold war.. racism on the march and blacks still supressed, and Gene Roddenberry makes a sci-fi show with a black female communications offices, and a Russian helmsman.

Brave and a picture of what he wanted mankind to be like - co-operating.
