It should not be common, not for a car at that price point. But the original swift was designed for holding side airbags (for Europe/ Canada and US markets). The Airbags are one of the reasons why the doors were designed to be so thick. In India since the Swift is sold at a lower price point, there are no airbags and the door is hollow. Because of this excess space, the window rail(s), and glass pane can become loose and rattle.

Don't know about the Swift, but it's not uncommon. Because the glass isn't as tightly held as when it's up and snugged into the door. Often it's a bit of wear, or even a "quality" thing.
