BORACAY is the best beach resort in the philippines. you can also checkout the link below for a complete list of the best beaches in the philippines. i would also prefer el nido in palawan island where you can go snorkeling, rock climbing, caves exploration and scuba diving where you get to discover not only the great corals but also the sunken galleons...
if you're the urban type, manila is the best place to hangout...you could go to makati, malate, ortigas center and libis, quezon city.

I am from Philippines so I can say i know my country very well. Philippines is surrounded by waters. We have many great tourist spots for vacation.
If you wish to stay in a cool place, go to Baguio City. It is a highland and has many leisure parks.
If you wanna see one of the smallest volcanoes in the world, go to Tagaytay. Taal Volcano is best viewed in this place. Plus, the place also has a cool atmosphere.
For beach spots I recommend Boracay. It is one of the popular beach spots here. You may also choose beaches in Palawan, Subic, La Union, etc.
Many other places in the Philippines are regarded as great vacation spots such as Cebu city, Camiguin Island, Corregidor, etc.
