Countries gain knowledge from Americans and adopt it in their system making them progressive just like USA.

Because America, unlike other countries, historically, this is a lot less true today, does not fight wars as conquerors. I mean just look at Iraq, we won the war initially, we achieved our objective. We are still there to try and help them rebuild.

We also have an economy that is able to support the efforts of rebuilding defeated nations.

The US has the theory that vanquished enemies can become our friends. It has historically worked, Japan, Germany, South Korea.

America does not seek to conquer...but will defend (with blood if necessary).
America differs from most of the world as we believe that people have great talent and determination to improve or add to their success. Change is not a bad thing; It is the only way one can learn, grow and create new ideas or things ...Our society nurtures the population as it is from energy and talents of the people that produces ideas/products that help everyone...
Those nations defeated by the US are unlike most of histories losers NOT conquered..or subjected to additional punishment because it serves no purpose. Once the war is over, Americans believe that the loser/nation needs to get helped back on their feet so that they can select a more productive path that will benefit their people. The most successful nations recognize that the diversity in the world is a unlimited resource as each action has the ability to develop their potential talent.
Americans are happy with their system but recognize that the diversity of other nations will benefit humans everywhere...
America was founded by those who wished for a country that was free from arbitrary oppression by a government that used its population to serve its needs.

Oh you must be talking about places like Japan and Germany. You really shouldn't ask questions like that it will short circut the brains of the far left America hating bush bashing crowd if they took the time to do a little research. But knowing them as I do like the person who answered first will just spout some un true gobblygook and raise their blood pressure as they write their astute answers. Why how dare anyone talk about America in a positive way! Well it's just er ah unAmerican in these days and times!!

Have you ever seen the movie..."The Mouse that Roared"?

The Mouse That Roared
1959-UK-Satire/Military Comedy/Political Satire
N.Y. Times Review by Bosley Crowther

PLOT DESCRIPTION
The economy of the teeny-tiny European duchy of Grand Fenwick is threatened when an American manufacturer comes up with an imitation of Fenwick's sole export, its fabled wine. Crafty prime minister Count Mountjoy (Peter Sellers) comes up with a plan: Grand Fenwick will declare war on the United States. Grand Duchess Gloriana (Peter Sellers again) is hesitant: how can meek little Grand Fenwick win such a conflict? Mountjoy explains that the plan is to lose the war, then rely upon American foreign aid to replenish Grand Fenwick's treasury. Bumbling military officer Tully Bascombe (Peter Sellers yet again) leads his country's ragtag army into battle. They cross the Atlantic in an ancient wooden vessel, then set foot on Manhattan Island, fully prepared to down weapons and surrender. But New York City is deserted, due to an air raid drill. While wandering around, Sellers comes upon atomic scientist David Kossoff and the scientist's pretty daughter Jean Seberg. Kossoff has been working on the deadly "Q Bomb," a football-sized weapon with the destructive capacity of a hundred hydrogen bombs. Suddenly seized with patriotic fervor, Tully captures Kossoff, his daughter and the bomb and brings them all back to Grand Fenwick. Tully has "won" the war-precisely what he'd been told not to do. The upshot of this "victory" is that every world power converges upon Grand Fenwick to claim the Q Bomb for themselves. The satire is heavy-handed at times, but The Mouse That Roared contains several unforgettably hilarious moments, including one startling "false ending." One of the best gags involves the Columbia Pictures logo--a bit frequently cut from TV showings, worse luck. Based on one of the many "Grand Fenwick" novels by Leonard Wibberly, The Mouse That Roared was a success, yielding a Peter Sellers-less sequel, 1963's Mouse on the Moon. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

You mean Japan and Germany, right. It is our deep desire that everyone should enjoy our freedoms and capitalism.

No Name hasn't noticed that the US did not win the Vietnam War. We left and look what happened to not only the Vietnamese but the Laotians and Cambodians.

We'd better win the peace for Iraq or the trouble will be unending.

That is a lie. Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan have been devastated by American foreign policy. I also think South America, Eastern Europe, Mexico, Vietnam and Russia have suffered terribly. American foreign policy is so damaging to other developing regions of the world. You can't pin this stuff on Germany and France these days, though the Algerian civil war was wrong.

I assume you are referring to countries like Germany, Italy, and Japan. These nations do not have to support an army or provide for their own defense so they have a larger percentage of their GNP to spend on domestic programs. The United States Military is their military and is obligated to protect them. Also they have more socialistic ecomonies. Whether they have a better lifestyle depends on who you ask. The above mentioned countries certainly have less overall wealth and less chance for social mobility. They also have higher drug and STD rates.

because after we tear a country down we help rebuild it back up. this not only helps their country but it also gives us another way of selling our goods. it also allows us to have a hand in how the country is ran from a government point of view
