Philip **** wrote great book about it, called the Man in the High Castle, exploring a world where the Axis had won. In our now, there has been speculation over who won the war, once it was said, 'Americans look at the cars you drive, and you will find out who won WWII". But that was the 80s. And the pertinent question for now, I think is not who won it, but what did they really achieve by this

I know I'll catch grief for this answer from all sorts of conservatives, but if your talking about the European stage of WW II it would be communism. The west could not have won the war without the Soviet Union. The soviets took an awful beating but because of their political system were able to rebuild and mobilize faster and more efficiently then expected. After losing so much in the beginning the ended the war as the second most powerful nation in the world.

Now I am not a communist, nor a fan of the soviets or their system but part of being a historian is being unbiased. Unfortunately there are not many who can manage that.

How annoying. If you have something to say, just say it. Afraid to tell us who really won the war, only to have someone tear your theory apart?

But I'll toss in a guess...um...it was Hollywood.
