In High School My son grilled hamburgers at McDonald's. So you can imagine the grease on his clothes.
My solution which worked extremely well was
Cascade dishwasher detergent. I used powder but the liquid wasn't out then. The liquid rubbed into the worst spots might be a good idea.
I used 1/4 cup of the Cascade Plus the appropriate measure of Liquid Tide in HOT water, water on the largest load and do not over load with clothing.
If when done they still show stains do not dry, wash again. Cascade has chlorine in it, so I wouldn't add bleach, too much bleach will break down fabric.
Cascade is made to eliminate Protein and many stains are protein.
Give it a try and see if it works for you.
Good Luck.

The first good rule of thumb is have a few set of clothes strictly for work only. There are some good oxygen products now that really get things white and stains out. Pre treat is the best thing you can do. Once you wash something stained it is usually set in pretty good. You can soak your whites in water and peroxide, that attacks stains that are protein based, sweat, semen, urine etc, I used to have a motel, the white sheets got whiter with this method and removed stains. For your greasy or harder stains, try the hand cleaner GOOP, just slather it on the stain and let it set for a while before you wash it. Works good and is cheap, 1 buck for a good size jar at Dollar General stores.

Get yourself a nine litre bucket with lid. Buy a tub of Napisan Plus, put two lidfuls of the powder into the bucket, a little hot water to dissolve the powder, then about 4 litres of water. When you get home after your hard day, put all the clothes in the bucket. Let em soak at least overnight, pref. 24hrs, then stick em in the washing machine and wash as normal. You can chuck the whole contents of the bucket in the machine , the Napisan will help in the main wash. There ya go. Whiter than White.! Best if you have a change of clothes of course then you can alternate.

My husband works as a mechanic and I have found that if I buy a gallon of purple power and add about 1/2 of the gallon to a normal load also adding normal amount of washing powder that this will remove A LOT of greese and dirt. If you are doing white clothes add the same with about 1/2 gallon of bleach. make sure to clean out your washing machine afterward, as this will leave grease and grim in the tub.

i am in the same boat, i use 2/3 cap of tide, 1/3 cup of clorox in a hot water wash. it's important to not load it too full of clothes, as they have to move around to get the dirt out. i also will take the really bad load to the laundromat and use the front loaders, as they move the stuff big time. when my clothes get too bad for work they become work on the truck clothes!! lol
