While I am not very gifted at decorating, my family room and main bath are primitive/ Native American, my spare room is western (horses), my laundry room is country/ Americana, my living room and dining room are traditional (Queene Anne styles with Dark Cherry Wood), my bedroom and bath are a combination of traditional and country, and my kitchen is done in strawberries with a lot of red with stainless appliances. My oldest son has a modern look with black, silver, and shades of blue. My middle son has nascar/ Jeff Gordon, and my youngest has John Deere/ tractor.
Do what you want! I personally do not like tropical but nautical may blend better with your other themes. I am sure that you can make it look good no matter what you decide. Good luck!

My living room is Oriental. My bathroom is Marine Life. My kitchen is "modern technology" and my favorite place is my BEDROOM all done in Midevil Knights,naked women, Dragons and Swords.
