A war is not like playing a basketball game. There's not always going to be a clear winner or loser. Obviously you haven't looked at all the facts and truths. Vietnam, we didn't win. Iraq, we're not "winning". And if you believe what you see on TV, well then you're just the gullible Joe that our government loves. They can pull ANY stunt on you and you would believe whatever cover up story they tell you.
