I think that they don't want to feel they are deviant just as anybody else doesn't want to feel bad for what they do. What might hurt their psyche and therefore their character would be for people to tell them what they do is wrong and to be looked down upon and a shunned minority. Being a deviant means differing from the norm. So now matter how many ways one can twist that definition, unless your behavior is absolutely acceptable to and participated by all of society then you are a deviant. Personally I'd like at least 75% of the world's population to be in a monogamous gay relationship- a cut down on the birth rates would be benefical to me in many ways. For example there would be more surplus of goods(less mouths to feed), better schools for my child when she gets older(better teacher to student ratio), and so on and so on. I'm getting off the subject, but you get the point. Hey there is your cure to poverty and famine!
