I have visited 22 countries including Japan and I now live in Germany. I can tell you that the UK is the most expensive place to live and it will get worse. The Tories flogged off the family silver to keep the UK going and dear Gorden is running the country on higher taxes. People then don't have money, so they borrow it. The house of cards will come crashing down. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Most of you seem to have forgotten that although for example Norway is expensive to us Brits and some other countries, the Norwegians don't find it so, as they have salalries to match. ie about 3 times uk. I have lived in Copenhagen and Oslo. The same applies to many other 'expensive' countries. Also the questioner stated, 'IN EUROPE' Japan and Canada are not in Europe. YET!!!

Carrie- I would put Denmark as the cheapest of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, not much more expensive than London.

The most expensive country in Europe is Denmark, followed by Greece.

The reason for this is that they base it on prices compared with wages. Although we might not find Greece expensive - we're not being paid 5 Euros an hour.

you're speaking about England because the most intense priced usa. it really is any day Australia. I only those days went there on a holiday on April 2015, and wow!! It became absolutely the most intense priced usa I actually were to. I actually were to ten ecu international places consisting of France, Finland or maybe Belgium. None of them are on a similar time as intense priced as Australia. i'm no longer speaking about city although the entire usa. It has also been rated the most intense priced usa by using deustche economic company.

Scandinavian countries have the highest tax levels.
It is actually cheaper for people in Stockholm to get on a ferry to Copenhagen, and party all night on the ferry, than it is to go out in Stockholm!
