I love football ever since my father put me on his knee. I know what a first down is, touchdown, 2 points conversion intentional grounding, I know about the game I talk football at work with the guys all the time. So don't say why do men like it. It's a whole lot of ladies love the game too.

It's the little things, the battle between the left end and the right tackle, the cornerback vs wide receiver match-up, the quarterbacks disection of the defense, or how the running back runs over, stiff-arms, or simply dodges people to make his way down the field. It is the ultimate stage on which the best players in the world get to show their skills. Some people specialize in power, some in smarts, some are quick, some just have that instinct. That and the hitting....it's almost like a survival of the fittest type situation crammed into 60 minutes. HAHA, sorry, I had to edit mine and add something, the guy above me just said he watches the young and the restless!!!!hahahahaha

Football has it all - violent collisions, strategy, colorful personalities.. it's a spectacle to behold.
And, as a thinking man, there is so much that goes into every single play. If one guy blows his assignment, it will ruin the entire play. Everyone has to do things exactly the way it's drawn up.. and the people drawing up these plays are bona fide geniuses.
And who doesn't like to see a guy get his head taken off by a 350lb snarling mountain of a man?

Let's put it this way. It's like a war between two sides. George Carlin put it best in one of his most famous stand-up segments.
In football, the object is for the quarterback, otherwise known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his recievers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use the shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.
This basically redefined how I looked at football in the first place.

I couldn't stand it, UNTIL, our home team, the Panthers, had a great year in '03. Been cheering for the home team ever since. That, plus being able to play it so realistically on video games, makes it interesting, playing out what you watch. The icing on the cake is then the sports section in Monday's paper.

Excitement, drama, unpredictability.
It is better than constantly watching One Life to Life, Passions or whatever soap opera is on during the afternoon. The only one I can stand once in a while is Young and Restless.

For me, I don't have to look or think about women for 3 hrs while watching a game
Plus, the males smashing into one another is fun. Better them than me

There is a lot of action. It is a great game and it really not hard to understand if you sit down and watch a game with some one who is willing to explain it to you, you might lean to like it.
