The person you would pick as best would get ten points and the "honorable mention" would get five? It is hard to choose sometimes no?

Yes i know what you mean sometimes their are all really great answers if I can not make a choice i look to see if anyone has a best answer yet and then give it to them I do that a lot I think everyone needs that first best answer to give them a nudge in the right direction. i know soem don't agree with that but when a person is trying and gives a decent answer it will just make them better I get so tired of one word repsonses to serious questions because they are just trying to get their 2 points I mean it's cool do as you will but be polite with your one or 2 words not "F--- off" or "shut up" or "you're stupid" anyway i write too much take care

I thought that was part of the rating system here? Sure you don't get the "big bucks", but if you go back and check you can see how many people thought that your answer deserved something. I try and rate the answers that are given on questions that I think are interesting

I do that by giving thumbs up to my other favorite answers....nobody really notices in the long run, but it makes me feel a little better :)
